摘要: Hydrology requires accurate and reliable rainfall input. Because of the strong spatial temporal variability precipitation, estimation spatially distributed rain rates is challenging. Despite fact that weather radars provide high-resolution (but indirect) observations they are not used in hydrological applications as extensively one could expect. The goal present review paper to investigate this question a clear view opportunities (e.g., for flash floods, urban hydrology, extremes) limitations complicated error structure, need adjustment) challenges use radar hydrology (i.e., validation studies, precipitation forecasting, mountainous propagation models).
