摘要: Impaired future thinking may be a core aspect of impulsive decision making. Recent efforts to understand the brain processes that underlie impulsivity have suggested role for frontal lobes. However, is unlikely unitary process, and lobes are not homogeneous entity. The present study contrasted effects dorsolateral ventromedial lobe damage on two distinct aspects in humans. Temporal discounting, subjective devaluation reward as function delay, affected by injury. In contrast, normal time perspective (a measure length an individual's self-defined future) depends ventromedial, but dorsolateral, Furthermore, investigation relationship these measures with classical symptoms indicates correlates apathy, impulsivity. Apathy deserve more attention understanding both impaired making result.
