摘要: Abstract Incubation of N-methylserotonin (NMS) with erythrocyte hemolyzates and C 14 -S-adenosylmethionine (C -SAM) leads to the formation an unidentified product rather than expected bufotenin. It is shown that this compound a condensation NMS -formaldehyde formed enzymatically from -SAM. rabbit lung homogenates however, product. Previous reports N-methyltransferase activity in blood perhaps other tissues should be re-evaluated light these findings, if rigorous proof identity was not carried out.
