摘要: Abstract The esterification of lactic acid with ethanol and the hydrolysis corresponding ester, ethyl lactate, have been studied in presence commercial cation-exchange resin Amberlyst 15. influence different operating parameters such as stirrer speed, catalyst particle size, initial reactant molar ratio, reaction temperature loading, has examined. Additionally, adsorption constants for four components on 15 were determined by performing experiments between two non-reacting species. values found follow order: water > ethanol > lactic acid > ethyl lactate. Experimental kinetic data reactions correlated simultaneously Langmuir–Hinshelwood (LH) pseudo-homogeneous (PH) models. activity coefficients calculated according to UNIQUAC model. LH model gave best agreement experimental data. activation energy be 52.29 56.05 kJ mol −1 , respectively.
