摘要: We present the design of a micropillar array that leads to formation stable and uniform liquid crystal (LC) thin films for sensing applications. Photolithography electroplating methods were employed fabricate array. By using this microfabricated structure, LC (5CB: 4'-pentyl-4-cyanobiphenyl) formed stabilized against gravitational forces mechanical shock. The geometric profile supported film was simulated by finite element methods. Orientational ordering transitions nematic LCs in used detect liquid- vapor-phase analytes via changes intensity light transmitted through LCs. these structures tested found respond dimethyl methylphosphonate gas.
