摘要: Abstract Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is defined in part by excessive and uncontrollable worry. However, little known about cognitive control abilities adults with GAD. The present study examined over negative neutral material a mixed clinical sample of GAD and/or obsessive-compulsive comparison healthy sample. Participants completed novel emotional variant the AX-CPT (eAX-CPT) to index proactive reactive presence distractor stimuli. demonstrated enhanced specifically distractors, relative distractors (within-subjects) OCD controls (between-subjects). Findings were specific versus trait worry; however, higher worry predicted better only. These findings are inconsistent deficit-based models may be accounted for that conceptualize as an intentional (albeit maladaptive) or emotion regulation strategy actively maintained individuals order avoid engaging more distressing information.
