Serological evidence of toxocariasis in patients from Spain with a clinical suspicion of visceral larva migrans

摘要: Sera from patients with clinical characteristics of toxocariasis were assayed using the ELISA method and larval excretory-secretory antigen. Four hundred seven samples Toxocara serology received at laboratory ‘Ciudad Sanitaria Juan Canalejo’ Hospital Corunna, Spain, 1984 to 1989. Of these, 30 adults, 332 children 45 unknown age, resulting in seroprevalences 23.3%, 32.8% 17.7% respectively. The reasons for these serological differences rural urban areas Galicia, Spain are discussed.
