摘要: The origin of chronic inflammation preceding the development prostate cancer (PCa) remains unknown. We investigated possible involvement mycoplasma infection in PCa by screening biopsies from two groups Russian men undergoing diagnosis. M. hominis was detected standard PCR 15% 125 patients first group and quantitative real-time 37.4% 123 second group. In both groups, stratification according to diagnosis showed that present at three times higher frequency with than those benign prostatic hyperplasia. No prostates 27 without detectable disease. addition, PCa-positive had titers antibodies against average PSA levels were hominis-positive men. These data, together previous observations linking cell transformation, genomic instability resistance apoptosis, suggest may be involved may, therefore, a potential marker and/or target for improved prevention treatment this
