摘要: Elephant foot yam (Amorphophallus paeoniifolius) is a vegetatively propagated stem tuber crop. In this investigation we describe highly competent and reproducible in vitro propagation of the plant from corm bud, petiole young leaf explants. Friable callus was initiated all explants on modified MS medium (half concentration NH4NO3 KNO3) supplemented with 0.5 mg l-1 each benzyl amino purine (BAP), α-naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) 2,4-dichloro phenoxy (2,4-D). Shoot regeneration calli optimal 5.0 BAP 1.0 NAA. Microcorms, capable producing micro shoots over surface, were induced at frequency 90% shoot 5% sucrose. Rooting 100% liquid augmented Indole 3- butyric (IBA). A survival rate plantlets transplantation to soil: sand: coir pith mixture recorded.
