摘要: This review highlights the many roles mass spectrometry plays in discovery and development of new therapeutics by both pharmaceutical biotechnology industries. Innovations spectrometer source design, improvements to accuracy, implementation computer-controlled automation have accelerated purification characterization compounds derived from combinatorial libraries, as well throughput pharmacokinetics studies. The use accelerator spectrometry, chemical reaction interface-mass continuous flow-isotope ratio are promising alternatives for conducting balance studies man. To meet technical challenges proteomics, groups companies led way instruments with greater sensitivity accuracy (e.g., MALDI-TOF, ESI-Q-TOF, Ion Trap), miniaturization separation techniques ion sources capillary HPLC nanospray), utilization bioinformatics. Affinity-based methods coupled allowing rapid selective identification synthetic biological molecules. With decreasing instrument cost size increasing reliability, spectrometers penetrating manufacturing quality control arenas. next generation technologies simplify investigation complex fate novel entities vitro vivo will be chip-based approaches spectrometry.
