摘要: Global column ozone data from total mapping spectrometer (TOMS), backscattered ultraviolet (BUV) and Dobson stations are analyzed to determine the pattern phase property of quasi-biennial oscillation (QBO) signal. It is found that QBO signal strongest in middle high latitudes present mainly winter-spring season both hemispheres. The extratropical out with equatorial QBO, which itself zonal wind. There three distinctive regions, namely tropical, midlatitudinal, polar each has a fairly constant respect latitude. reversal (sign change) between regions associated return branch secondary circulation, this sign occurs at ±12° latitude symmetric about equator. In northern hemisphere midlatitudinal there another possible some (but not all) years possibly connection presence or absence midwinter sudden warming, creates positive negative anomaly relative region outside vortex. southern latitudes, usually delayed until spring final warming. These properties all sets by same method. Evidence does support gradual propagation subtropical high-latitude region. Previous reported evidence for reexamined be artifacts processing.
