摘要: Up to several kilometers deep sedimentary basins of Neogene Quaternary age are found in the south Adriatic between Apennines and Dinarides/Albanides. They foredeep, Central Basin, South Basin. Two regional seismic lines, 260 170 km long, across entire system provide hitherto unavailable constraints on kinematics dynamics basin development. The Apennine foredeep imaged along formed middle late Pliocene times through a rapid westward tilting floor. A paleobathymetry few was created which allochthonous bodies were emplaced sediments deposited unaffected by deformation farther rotations. Basins both characterized strong subsidence their central parts, gradually diminishing toward edges SW NE. Depocenters did not shift laterally time. Subsidence rates increase time, continued also following end main shortening episodes form two crustal-scale synclines with concentrated parts. Basins' geometries patterns indicate that crust has undergone (episodes of) buckling since Miocene times. Wavelengths amplitudes such folds change strike corresponding mechanical changes folded medium.
