摘要: A large number of calves maintained up to two weeks with the Kwan-Gett artificial heart have had elevated central venous pressure associated ascites, edema, oliguria responding diuretics, and increased body weight organs at autopsy. This has been described as right failure syndrome a problem limiting survival heart. The high attributed inadequate pumping characteristics well imperfect fit which obstructs return. new design an was tested on mock circulation in one calf encouraging results. Venous return remained unimpaired during test calf. is designed following main characteristics. Although compromised lung space, it demonstrated need for still another will not obstruct maintain normal pressures without compromising space.
