摘要: There is a rise of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) burden, which causing increasing morbidity and premature mortality in developing countries. In 1990, cardiovascular (CVD) accounted for 63 per cent all deaths India contributed to 17 the worldwide mortality. Several surveys conducted across country over past two decades have shown rising prevalence major risk factors CVD urban rural populations. These are limited by their generalisability other parts country, more was required roll out an action plan. lack organized national system monitoring these time so as inform policy programme appropriate interventions. The Indian Council Medical Research (ICMR) leveraged its research on NCD factor surveillance development plan under Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (IDSP) will obtain State-based selected factors. This review provides scenario need system. By examining similar experiences globally, it outlines scope India.
