摘要: The present paper addresses spatial modeling for an easy and effective way to evaluate the greenbelt potentials in medium-sized cities Iran. Data were collected from of Babol, Kashan, Neyshabour, Qazvin, analyzed through geographical information system (GIS). All key variables systematically set evaluation matrix called a statistical index (SI). SI values used assess current landscape pattern implementing greenbelts these four cities. results revealed moderate suitability development two cases (Neyshabour Kashan) with 0.406 0.333, respectively. On other side, model showed high (Qazvin Babol) 0.654 0.523, Overall, case Qazvin better chances greenbelt, due existing orchards as sub-natural protection ring surrounding city. This pioneer research quantifying can be successful practice urban planning cities; this not only Iranian cities, but it new method investigate potential Middle Eastern countries.
