摘要: Phylogenetic relationships within the tribe Moriomorphini Sloane, 1890 are analyzed cladistically based on 75 morphological characters and 21 ingroup terminal taxa rooted at a Trechus obtusus Erichson outgroup. Based resultant cladistic relationships, two subtribes–Moriomorphina Amblytelina Blackburn, 1892–are recognized, with following new synonymies proposed: Meonides 1898 = (NEW SYNONYMY); Tropopterides Mecyclothoracitae Jeannel, 1940 SYNONYMY). Monophyly of Moriomorphina is presence elongate, parallel-sided glabrous to nearly male parameres, whereas defined most broadly by possession conchoid parameres narrowed, setose apices, subtending clade more derived parameral configuration whereby elongate styloid terminate in whip-like apical extension. Representatives all New Zealand moriomorphine genera included analysis, results necessitating description Rossjoycea glacialis, gen. n. sp. n., known from single locality near Franz Josef Glacier, Westland, South Island, Zealand. Meonochilus Liebherr Marris, 2009 demonstrated, its six species taxonomically revised: amplipennis (Broun), eplicatus placens bellorum, rectus, spiculatus, Geographic restriction North Island Zealand, coupled sister-group status an Australian-based Amblytelus Erichson-Mecyclothorax Sharp reinforce interpretation that was isolated vicariance along Norfolk Ridge, subsequent Zealand’s initial Cretaceous isolation Tasmania southeastern Australia via opening Tasman Sea.
