摘要: We have determined the structure of an unstable, small RNA Escherichia coli, called spot 42 (Ikemura & Dahlberg, 1973a,b). Spot is 109 nucleotides long, has no modified and very likely a primary transcription product. The nuoleotide sequence partial digestion data support secondary with at least one hairpin loop. Contained within this are possible ribosome binding site, protein synthesis initiator A-U-G in-phase U-G-A terminator, giving messenger RNA-like character. Most 14 triplets between codons for hydrophobic amino acids such as leucine, phenylalanine, valine isoleucine. 3′-terminal -U-U-U-U-U-U-AOH which preceded by G + C-rich looped region. share many features other bacterial bacteriophage RNAs, some been shown to be leader RNAs (Bertrand et al., 1976).
