摘要: Immunohistochemical features of infiltrating mononuclear cells (MNC) and resident were studied in the temporal artery biopsy specimens 13 patients with histological verified giant cell arteritis (GCA) six from GCA negative findings. Eight seven unrelated diseases served as controls. In all proved by an infiltration T lymphocytes arterial wall was observed, most being helper/inducer subset. No B lymphocytes, or very few, seen. Lymphocytes 10 out positive displayed staining for class II major histocompatibility complex (MHC) antigen HLA-DR, whereas this found only two eight A minor number stained transferrin receptors, cases they reacted anti-interleukin 2 receptor antibody. histologically we also increased macrophages, many them expressing HLA-DR antigens receptors. The immunohistochemical pattern phenotypes suggests that are immunologically activated. This finding supports hypothesis a predominantly cellular immunological pathogenesis arteritis.
