摘要: Background: Elimination of daily-routine chest radiographs (CXRs) may influence computed tomography (CT) and ultrasound practice in critically ill patients. Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study including all patients admitted to university-affiliated intensive care unit during two consecutive periods 5 months, one before after elimination CXR. Chest CT studies were identified retrospectively by using the radiology department information system. indications for diagnostic/dierapeutic yield collected. Results: CXR resulted decrease CXRs per patient day from 1.1 +/- 0.3 0.6 0.4 (P <0.05). did not affect duration stay or mortality rates. Neither number nor ratio changed with intervention: Before CXR, 52 obtained 747 patients; elimination, 54 743 Similarly, affected change strategy: 21 27 performed, respectively. Also, timing different between periods. During periods, 40 106 (38%) 18 48 ultra- sound therapy. The combined therapeutic Conclusions: multidisciplinary
