摘要: At present, there is an ongoing search for approaches toward the storage of energy from intermittent renewable sources like wind and solar. Flow batteries have gained attention due to their potential viability inexpensive large amounts energy. While quinone/hydroquinone redox couple a widely studied pair, its application in has not been explored. Because high reversibility, low toxicity, component costs, we propose as viable candidate use grid-scale device. We performed single-electrode tests on several couples, achieving current densities exceeding 500 mA/cm2, which acceptable applications. fabricated full cell using para-benzoquinone at positive electrode against commercial fuel hydrogen separated by Nafion membrane. evaluated performance galvanic mode, where it reached 150 mA/cm2. The results these studies indicate that promising flow batteries.
