摘要: Peroxisomes carry out many essential lipid metabolic functions. Nearly all of these functions require that an acyl group-either a fatty acid or the side chain steroid derivative-be thioesterified to coenzyme A (CoA) for subsequent reactions proceed. This thioesterification, "activation", reaction, catalyzed by enzymes belonging acyl-CoA synthetase family, is thus central cellular metabolism. However, despite our rather thorough understanding peroxisomal pathways, surprisingly little known about specific synthetases participate in pathways. Of 26 encoded human and mouse genomes, only few have been reported be peroxisomal, including ACSL4, SLC27A2, SLC27A4. In this review, we briefly describe primary pathways which acyl-CoAs participate. Then, examine evidence presence peroxisomes, much was obtained before existence multiple isoenzymes known. Finally, discuss role(s) peroxisome-specific isoforms
