Simulation of amphiphilic mesophases using dissipative particle dynamics

摘要: We study a dense solution of an amphiphilic species using the dissipative particle dynamics (DPD) algorithm, focussing on smectic mesophase. Since DPD is locally momentum-conserving, it gives at large length scales faithful representation isothermal hydrodynamics system. Results are presented for phase diagram minimal amphiphile model, consisting rigid AB dimers in C monomers, coarsening polydomain phase, and formation monodomain when shear applied.
