摘要: Nano-domains are sub-light-diffraction-sized heterogeneous areas in the plasma membrane of cells, which involved cell signalling and trafficking. Throughout last thirty years, these nano-domains have been researched extensively subject multiple theories models: lipid raft theory, fence model, protein oligomerization theory. Strong evidence exists for all these, consequently they were combined into a hierarchal model. Measurements diffusion coefficients patterns instrumental research by extension nano-domain research. This has led to development methodologies that can measure confinement parameters including single particle tracking, fluorescence correlation spectroscopy, image spectroscopy recovery after photobleaching. Here we review performance strengths methods context their use identification characterization nano-domains.
