摘要: The macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) is a potent pro-inflammatory cytokine and regulates the anti-inflammator effects of glucocorticoids. An important role for MIF within cascade to act in concert with endogenous glucocorticoids control set-point magnitude inflammatory response. Elevated expression circulation synovial joint has been documented rheumatoid arthritis. also linked development damage disease pathology experimental animal models. We describe herein novel CATT-tetranucleotide repeat polymorphism at position −794 human Mif gene show that it functionally affects activity promoter reporter assays. four genotypes which comprise 5, 6, 7, or 8-CATT units 5-CATT allele lowest level basal stimulated vitro. presence low expressing, correlated severity cohort arthritis patients.
