摘要: Using a pump–probe technique, the reactions of Mg (4 1 S 0 and 3 D 2 ) with H have been measured to yield similar rotational distributions MgH (v=0 1) as that obtained for reaction (3 P state . A series measurements is conducted clarify are initiated directly by these higher states, rather than occurring from lower following radiative collisional relaxation. The reactivity 4 found be comparable state, but about three times larger state. , )– proceed via harpoon-type process, closely associated coordinate through evolution surface crossings. To support our suggestion harpoon mechanism involved, cross sections deactivation various excited states measured. ratios observed 5 equal 1:2.85:4.3, consistent calculated prediction 1:2.62:4.24. based on simple hard sphere model effective radii evaluated differently. Here, determined crossing ionic covalent curves, while radius estimated nonadiabatic between reactive B ground Consistency observation confirms proposed in this work plausible.
