Adult Sex Typing of Children's Toys.

摘要: A primary focus of this study was to determine whether adults use traditional sex-type standards when choosing toys for boys or girls. I also investigated an adult's sex gender role influences decision. College students were shown pictures 74 toys, and asked indicate they would buy each toy a boy girl. Traditional ratings found. In addition, male subjects sex-typed greater extent than female subjects. Subjects' unrelated ratings. Subjects judged provided educational value, required activity, encouraged cooperation. Toys rated as requiring activity not considered educational, but many encouraging masculine more feminine toys.
