摘要: Nanosize silver particles are formed in aqueous surfactant systems and have been found to be very reactive toward oxygen the presence of borohydride. Purging air (O2) or simple shaking leads complete dissolution particles, which is further regenerated on standing. Thus an oscillation between a yellow plasmon band colorless solution observed periodic shaking. This continues as long excess borohydride present. Investigation shows that borohydride, strong nucleophile, adsorbs surface particle decreases reduction potential so it reacts rapidly with oxygen. Surfactant plays extra role over stabilization. It removes oxidized from bulk also retards rate AgI Ag0.
