摘要: Roztocze - the picturesque region abounding with unique landforms and pre-Quaternary rock outcrops, is character- ized by high geodiversity. Silicified wood fragments are specific peculiarities of this area its geological heritage. The petrified became geoturistic symbol region. Numerous historical buildings monuments, such as churches, roadside crosses thumbs (mainly from 18-19 th centuries), made local rocks, remnants history three societies: Polish (Roman-Catholic), Ukrainian (Greek-Catholic) Jewish, which coexisted in until Second World War. These traditions constitute diverse cultural heritage area. Extraordinary geodiversity, natural cul- tural values well social circumstances gave rise to establishment Stone Forest Geopark Roztocze, promoting heritage, special regard wood. High scientific educational more than 150 geosites recorded create advantageous perspectives geotourism development comprehensive ecological edu- cation.
