摘要: [1] We use the data set from magnetometer and electron reflectometer instruments on board Mars Global Surveyor spacecraft to show that crustal magnetic fields of affect location pileup boundary (MPB) bow shock (BS) globally. search for crossings MPB BS in were observed over first 16 months mission. To identify influence fields, all are extrapolated terminator plane order remove solar zenith angle (SZA) dependence, make it possible compare independently location. The regions Mars, which contain strong average located further out than with weak fields. This is shown three separate longitude intervals. also find dayside southern hemisphere northern hemisphere, possibly because study field strength its variation at inside their dependence SZA altitude. magnitude closely linked altitude MPB, increasing as closer planet.
