摘要: Objective We derived an estimate of male condom effectiveness during anal sex among men who have with (MSM) because the most widely used (80%) was based on studies persons heterosexual HIV-positive partner. Design Assessed between MSM in 2 prospective cohort HIV incidence by self-reported consistency use. Methods Analyzed data combined from US participants EXPLORE trial (1999-2001) public use set and VAX 004 (1998-1999) set. Initially, HIV-uninfected enrolled these trials completed baseline semiannual interviews about their sexual behaviors partners underwent testing. Using a time-to-event model, consistent preventing infection estimated reporting receptive and/or insertive partner Results Among any partner, we found 70% reported (compared never use) no significant protection when comparing sometimes to This point for less than 80% heterosexuals HIV-discordant couples However, estimates populations are not statistically different. Only 16% status over entire observation period. Conclusions These useful counseling efforts modeling impact comparative condoms other prevention methods MSM.
