摘要: Abstract The aim of this paper is to enrich our knowledge an important paleosol succession located in Bojano basin the southern Apennines (Italy), with new pedological, geochemical and magnetic data. studied area consists alluvial fluvial-lacustrine sequences (>160 m) dating from Middle Pleistocene (0.5 Ma). study shows presence recent soil consisting well-developed Andosols (RS), several clastic sedimentary levels alternating four layers (Solum I, II, III IV) paleosols. Soil paleosols were analyzed by laser grain size distribution (GSD), diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), trace elements, properties order evaluate relative contributions pedogenic detrital components. Results showed that finest ferrimagnetic grains exhibit two trends respect degree pedogenesis indicate different pedoclimate formations. sequence highly-weathered Vertisols I less weathered Entisols III). On basis element content Gt/χ fd ratio, all (I, III, exhibited low weathering compared RS negligible contribution fractions. This occurs which developed under humid temperate climates SIV) below layer Neapolitan Yellow Tuff, after 12–15 ka BP. In Solum, levels, rate could have more cold climatic conditions last eruption (Campanian Ignimbrite, 39 ka) Late Pleistocene.
