摘要: Cytosine methylation, a common form of DNA modification that antagonizes transcription, is found at transposons and repeats in vertebrates, plants fungi. Here we have mapped methylation the entire Arabidopsis thaliana genome high resolution. covers present within large fraction A. genes. Methylation genes conspicuously biased away from gene ends, suggesting dependence on RNA polymerase transit. Genic strongly influenced by transcription: moderately transcribed are most likely to be methylated, whereas either extreme least likely. In turn, transcription methylation: short methylated poorly expressed, loss body leads enhanced transcription. Our results indicate genic closely interwoven processes.
