摘要: Background Radiation Therapy (RT) is an established treatment option for benign intracranial lesions. The aim of this study to display update on the role RT concerning most frequent brain lesions and tumors. Methods Published articles about meningiomas, Vestibular Schwannomas (VSs), Pituitary Adenomas (PAs), Arteriovenous Malformations (AVMs) craniopharyngiomas were reviewed extracted data used. Results In meningiomas applied as adjuvant therapy, in case patientrefusing surgery or unresectable available techniques are External Beam (EBRT) stereotactic ones such Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), Fractionated (FSRT), Intensity Modulated (IMRT) proton-beam therapy. same indications considered PAs, which SRS FSRT achieve excellent tumor control rate (92-100%), acceptable hormone remission rates (>50%) decreased Adverse Effects (AREs). Upon growth neurological deterioration, emerges alone against VSs, with SRS, FSRT, EBRT protonbeam therapy presenting (>90%), facial nerve (84-100%), trigeminal (74-99%) hearing preservation. poses effective modality certain AVMs, demonstrating a 3-year obliteration 80%. Lastly, combination microsurgery presents equal local 5-year survival (>90%) but improved toxicity profile compared total resection craniopharyngiomas. Conclusion comprises By minimizing its AREs optimal use, projects potent tool diseases.
