Birefringence behaviour of an epoxy resin in compression

摘要: Strain and birefringence due to stresses up 6 ton in-1 were measured. Specimens compressed between flat platens. Birefringence was found be proportional strain 4.5%, but are only stress 1.25% strain. Up 4.5% the non-linearity is delayed elasticity.
