摘要: We have used P element deletion derivatives at defined locations in the Drosophila genome to construct a 100-kb extended more than twice size of any previously available. demonstrate that this prototypical is capable transposition new sites genome. The structural and functional integrity transposed was confirmed using molecular, genetic, cytogenetic criteria. This first method shown be producing large, unlinked transpositional duplications Drosophila. ability produce transposable elements from half-elements novel has many potential applications for analysis complex genomes.
