Novel synthesis of BiVO 4 using homogeneous precipitation and its enhanced photocatalytic activity

摘要: The improvement of the photocatalyst performance with reducing production cost is still most important concern for finding target material properties and possibility mass production. Herein, we report a novel synthesis BiVO4 by homogeneous precipitation. Different surfactants such as polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), ethylene glycol (EG), cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), sodium dodecylbenzene sulphonate (SDBS) were added to assist crystal orientation. XRD, SEM, Raman, DRS used evaluate orientation as-synthesized samples. XRD revealed purity produced samples except SDBS that mixture (tetragonal /monoclinic) phase. Raman analysis confirmed PVP surfactant has smallest V–O bond length led lowest bandgap 2.17 eV. photoelectrochemical results there decrease in electron-hole recombination rate shown from electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) data, well swelling band pinning Fermi energy edge toward negative direction according Mott-Schottky (MS) curve. These impacts are due different facets possessing truncated bipyramid-like shape which created via surfactant. variations enhanced photodegradation methylene blue (MB) dye wastewater module.
