摘要: Abstract This article describes a study of the uptake places on ‘access’ to higher education courses in Scottish further (FE) colleges by students from minority ethnic backgrounds. Colleges surveyed recruited access backgrounds close approximation proportions attracted FE general, despite commitment prioritise under‐represented groups, including communities. The found general acceptance principle positive action colleges, but little evidence strategies likely prove effective. It is suggested that government's agenda for widening participation can only be accomplished when sector recognises ethnicity as an important issue.
