摘要: Abstract The wear rate and the cutting force were measured for copper samples sliding against silicon carbide abrasive papers. abrasion was carried out dry at low, constant speed. applied load, sample diameter grain size variables. It found that value of “critical grit diameter” is not fixed but depends on size. caused by attrition grains which leads to an increase in fraction load “non-cutting” contact with surface. For sizes above critical is, practical purposes, proportional pressure a linear function specimen area. Approximately 15% groove volume removed form chip. remainder forms ridges metal shown work necessary remove material sum several contributions. Of these friction shearing process contribute over 80%. actual chip less than 10% total. small large loads additional terms become important.
