摘要: We examined the feasibility of brief outpatient detoxification as a treatment for prescription opioid (PO) abusers. Fifteen PO-dependent adults were enrolled to receive buprenorphine stabilization, 2-week taper, and subsequent naltrexone those who completed taper. Subjects also received behavioral therapy, urinalysis monitoring, double-blind drug administration. provided 83.8%, 91.7% 31.2% opioid-negative samples during taper phases, respectively. Inspection individual subject data revealed systematic differences in whether subjects successfully without resumption illicit use. Post-hoc analyses used examine characteristics (Responders, n=5) vs. failed do so (Nonresponders, n=9). These pilot suggest subset PO abusers may respond detoxification, though future efforts should aim improve outcomes, investigate response identify that predict whom longer-term agonist is warranted.
