Mechanically controllable bi-stable states in a highly conductive single pyrazine molecular junction

摘要: We report the fabrication of a highly conductive single pyrazine molecular junction with Pt leads. Mechanically controllable break-junction measurements at low temperatures show two distinct high and conductance states. These values are orders magnitude larger than those conventional anchoring groups because direct binding π conjugated molecule to metal electrode large density states Fermi energy. Inelastic electron tunneling spectroscopy combined functional theory calculations highlights vibration modes system for regimes. Theory allows us assign configurations in which axis is tilted parallel respect axis, respectively. Finally, we that can be reversibly switched between bi-stable by mechanically stretching relaxing junction.
