A novel method for analyzing dominant oscillation mode based on improved EMD and signal energy algorithm

摘要: In this paper, a novel method that integrates the improved empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and signal energy algorithm is proposed to estimate dominant oscillation parameters corresponding shape. Firstly, EMD with symmetrical extrema extension (SEE) utilized decompose measured data from wide area measurement system (WAMS) into finite set of intrinsic functions (IMFs). Then, used calculate approximate IMFs. The nodes involved are classified based on calculated frequency reasonable threshold. Furthermore, for mode, IMF maximum mean amplitude defined as reference. Next, relative phases (RPs) between reference other IMFs in order identify negative positive groups. According values RPs, coherent group node contribution factor (NCF) can be identified, shape (AMS) also determined. efficiency approach tested by applying it synthetic simulation model.
