摘要: Curiosity about how and why certain substances are toxic to man or microbes has traditionally been one of the major guiding forces biological research, it would be easy document much our basic understanding biochemical mechanisms, cell structure physiology generated in context drug mode-of-action studies. This remains true for many contemporary branches biology, particularly so case β-lactam antibiotics. While academically oriented scientist benefited tremendously from availability various β-lactams, clinician pharmaceutical chemist interested developing new antibiotics improved efficacy against disease-causing received relatively little benefit In fact, until recently, most β-lactams with spectrum activity were developed more less by trial error using bacterial minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) values as main criteria evaluation. It seems, however, that this area is headed change. During past five seven years, studies began producing information potential translated into practical use selective screening perhaps eventually rational design. The tremendous revival interest these during few years documents recognition.
