摘要: The Committee on Allergen Standardization of the American Academy Allergy and Immunology obtained information about 46 fatalities that had occurred during immunotherapy (IT) or skin testing (ST) since 1945. Sufficient for complete analysis was provided 30 patients (six ST 24 IT). Of fatalities, there were 15 male female fatalities. ranging in age from 7 to 70 years (x=33 years). Known errors administration accounted three possibly an additional Ten seasonal exacerbation patient's disease, four who been symptomatic at time injection, two whom receiving β-adrenergic blockers. associated with IT, experienced previous reactions, 11 manifested a high degree sensitivity, injected newly prepared extracts. Fifteen received pollen extracts as part fatal injection. six ST, five due intradermal without prior puncture testing. signs symptoms variable did not indicate death imminent nor predict cause death. onset reaction less than minutes 22/30, more 3/30, reported 5/30. 14/16 asthma respiratory. Epinephrine administered 18, three, either recorded unknown remaining nine patients. Since seven 10 million allergen injections are yearly, risk is low may be lessened even further precautions taken selection treatment allergic improved anaphylactic reactions.
