摘要: Rationale and Objectives. The reduction of metal artifacts in x-ray computed tomography (CT) has important clinical applications. An iterative method adapted from the expectation maximization (EM) formula for emission CT was shown to be effective artifact reduction, but its computational speed is slow. goal this project accelerate that reduction. Materials Methods. Using row-action/ordered-subset as a basis, authors developed fast algorithm In each iteration algorithm, both reprojection an intermediate image backprojection discrepancy data are performed. Results. feasibility demonstrated numerical phantom experiments. comparison with nonaccelerated improved by order magnitude given quality terms visual inspection, I-divergence projection domain, euclidean distance domain. Conclusion. corrects reconstruction according subsets projections produces satisfactory at much faster than previously published algorithm. This potential applications, such orthopedic, oncologic, dental imaging.
