摘要: Static respiratory mechanics were examined in the armadillo (Dasypus novemcinctus) and compared with allometric relationships newly derived for adult mammals from values literature. Normalised by body weight, chest wall compliance (Cw) is lower than predicted. Lung (Cl) also low armadillo, however it appropriately matched to resting lung volume (Vr) (ie. Cl/Vr infinity Mass0.0) ratio of Cw/Cl appropriate size animal. Respiratory system resistance high presumably because smaller airways associated small lung. The power breathing comparatively high, mainly due resistive forces. Indeed, oxidative cost approximately double that a mammal similar Vr.
