摘要: The freshwater crustacean Daphnia magna is used extensively in ecotoxicological testing throughout the world. In addition, acute toxicity tests using are required during chemical risk assessment including under EU Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals (REACH). Multiple studies have reported variation response different strains to toxicant exposure heavy metals. In this thesis, 10 were obtained from international research institutions comparative molecular toxicities metals cadmium copper these was investigated A standard measure toxicity, immobilisation test performed, addition use mass spectrometry-based metabolomics order assess sensitivity metabolic differences between strains. Up 12-fold observed. Considerable basal metabolism also discovered correlated with relative copper. Together findings show for first time that metabolically identifying a significant limitation regulatory decision making: results independent laboratories may not agree.
