摘要: Abstract A better understanding of the adhesion mechanisms between bitumen binder and aggregate substrates, as employed in asphalt road pavements, is necessary to improve durability road–pavement materials. new test protocol outlined present paper measure characteristic fracture resistance such bitumen–aggregate joints understand causes failure surfaces, especially when associated with moisture ingress. The based upon a novel peel which has been developed using mechanics approach determine adhesive energy tested both an unconditioned state (i.e., ‘dry’ state) after being conditioned aqueous environment. Thus, initial can be assessed effects any moisture-induced damage successfully quantified by determination energy. With these newly-developed techniques, different aggregates grades may quantitatively studied, since this technique recommended readily adapted according requirements bitumen, types required conditions.
