Adoption of Water-Efficient Technology: Role of Water Price Flexibility, Tenure Uncerntainty and Production Targets in Uzbekistan

摘要: The study investigates different institutional and economic factors that can induce farmers to adopt efficient irrigation technologies in the irrigated agriculture of Uzbekistan. To investigate effect policies on investment technology, we simulate scenarios design cotton procurement policy land tenure security using a farm-based optimization model maximizes total net benefit farmer. results indicate flexible water price increase adoption rate by 20% compared fixed levels. However, high supply variability may nevertheless delay an technology. Likewise, removal yield-based target could water-efficient technologies. Finally, are likely respond much stronger pricing, when risk losing is lower.
