摘要: Acknowledging the link between competitive and efficient spatial agricultural markets farm productivity, government of Ethiopia has implemented various market enhancing policy institutional measures. The effectiveness these measures to achieve their goals, among others, depends on degree symmetry prices transmit across as well efficiency arbitrage. We tested presence asymmetric price adjustment in grain Ethiopia. result provided clear evidence for teff crops, but not maize. For adjust quickly shocks that increase than reduce prices. analysis also showed are characterized by a significant level inefficiency. Although further research is necessary establish real causes observed transmission inefficiency, finding suggests departure from perfectly settings partly be blamed recent food crops hikes. In addition undesirable redistributional consequences, transmissions asymmetry inefficiency expected entail loss. Future empirical work this area should strive explain underlying reasons
