摘要: The diurnal variability of precipitation depth over the Tibetan Plateau and its surrounding regions is investigated using nine years Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) radar (PR) measurements. Plateau, plains area, East China Sea are selected as focus in this study. average depths (PD) about 4.6 km, 5.8 5.6 while convective (stratiform) PDs 6.6 (4.5) 7.5 (5.7) 6.0 (5.6) km plateau, plains, ocean region, respectively. Results demonstrate a prominent PD cycle, phase generally few hours behind surface precipitation. spatial variation magnitude weaker near coastal areas than that height peak around 6–7 for systems 5–6 stratifrom systems. dominant afternoon flat stratiform indicate solar forcing key mechanism cycle land. In addition, obvious shallow deep systems, but not
